Mining a rich seam of Nenthead history
The story of lead mining in the North Pennines is going to be told with the help of a £3 million grant. Known as the land of lead and silver, mining brought riches and people to this remote part of upland England. Now the industrial and cultural heritage of this unspoilt part of Cumbria will be celebrated for a new generation of locals and visitors .
