'There was violence in my prison almost daily'
The Justice Secretary Liz Truss is to hold urgent talks with prison officers after their union claimed that cuts in the level of staff means prisons are increasingly dangerous and unsafe.
Charles served a 15 month sentence for a white collar crime and is now working with the rehabilitation programme Key4Life.
He tells BBC Radio 4's The World at One about the gang violence and stabbings he saw in prison.
