The struggle to name the drowned migrants
Very few of the bodies which are recovered from the shipwrecks in the Mediterranean are ever officially identified, but this time Italy is determined to give the bodies names rather than numbers.
For the past week, the Italian navy has been involved in a challenging and costly operation to recover a migrant ship, which sank off the coast of Libya last April with around 800 asylum seekers on board.
Who were the men, women and children who drowned on board? Emma Jane Kirby has been to Milan to meet the forensic team who will be responsible for identifying the dead.
