Do we buy things for the sake of it? Bannau Brycheiniog National Park has been speaking about the items that have been abandoned after the bank holiday weekend – including a working tent which was "full of kit". Similar pictures were seen earlier in the week after Reading Festival, where fields of discarded tents were also left, despite pleas from the organisers to take them home. It’s got us thinking about overconsumption – why are we so happy to dump items we’ve spent money on?

Are we being priced out of sporting events? In a column on The Times, former cricketer, now commentator Michael Vaughan has blasted the price of ‘extortionate’ Ashes tickets. A Cold War bunker near Brecon will open its doors to the public next week as part of a festival offering free access to historic sites across Wales. Visitors will be able to go down into the bunker which has been returned to its original condition when it was in use. Have you been in a bunker?
