Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust

Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust takes young people aged 8-24 from across the UK on sailing and outdoor adventures, to inspire them to believe in a brighter future living through and beyond cancer. For many, picking up where they left off before a diagnosis isn’t possible.

Tegan’s story

Tegan’s story
Years after her diagnosis, Tegan felt isolated from the world around her. No one understood what she was going through. But sailing with the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust she found connection and a new passion, drive, and peace.

Beyond treatment

Beyond treatment

Cancer has a huge impact on young people’s mental wellbeing. Friendships, relationships, education and careers all suffer while many live with survivors’ guilt, anxiety, depression and physical late effects that last way beyond the end of treatment.

Brighter futures

Brighter futures

Connecting on the water with others who ‘get it’, young people rediscover their purpose and optimism for the future. Beneficiaries say that realising again what they are capable of helps with their mental wellbeing.
