Call You and Yours: Have you been caught out by a fake website?

On Call You and Yours we're asking - Have you been caught out by a fake website?

Have you been caught out by a fake website?

New research from National Trading Standards suggests that 6.4 million people in the UK have lost money after clicking on a fake online advert, while scammers are increasingly using AI to create convincing websites, reviews and online shops that can be difficult to distinguish from the real thing.

From holiday bookings and online shopping to counterfeit medicines and cloned business websites, fraudsters are finding ever more sophisticated ways to trick consumers into handing over money and personal information.

Have you fallen victim to a fake website? What happened? Did you get your money back? Or have online scams changed the way you shop online?

Joining us throughout the programme will be Lisa Webb, Consumer Law Expert at Which?, and Kevin Curran, Professor of Cyber Security at Ulster University and an expert on online safety.

You can call us from 11am on 03700 100 444.
