Jason Mohammad takes your calls on Sir Keir Starmer's resignation, the heat, and starters.

Your reaction to Sir Keir Starmer's resignation. How are you coping in the heat? And do you prefer a starter or dessert?

Keir Starmer has resigned as prime minister and leader of the Labour Party in a statement outside 10 Downing Street this morning. He says every decision he has made in office has been about 'putting the country I love first'. The prime minister has been under mounting pressure to quit since Andy Burnham’s victory at the Makerfield by-election last week. It’s your reaction to this announcement this morning.

It’s hot! Temperatures could peak at about 38C this week, according to the Met Office, which has extended a weather warning across Wales. People have been advised to avoid the midday sun, limit exercise, stay hydrated and protected from the heat, while the RSPCA has warned pet owners to take extra care. How are you coping in the heat?

And finally, when you’re out at a restaurant, do you opt for a starter or a dessert? Well, some food critics have sworn that starters are the best thing on the menu, as it’s where most chefs try out new recipes, and you’re so full of anticipation, hunger and excitement that the food tastes its best. So, what team are you on? Starters or desserts?
