Auctioneer Izzie Balmer and restorer JJ Chalmers head to Doncaster to help husband and wife Michael and Clara. Over the years, the couple have amassed a vast range of belongings through family inheritances and Michael’s lifelong passion for collecting. Now, with their home filled from loft to garage, and with life bringing new challenges, they have decided it is time to reclaim space and shape a clearer future. Supported by each other, and with the help of dynamic duo Izzie and JJ, they hope to turn a lifetime of collecting into something truly meaningful.

As they rummage, Izzie uncovers an eclectic array of treasures, including a vintage Peugeot 103 moped, Wedgwood Jasperware, Chinese ceramics, a collection of walking sticks and a rare Kew Gardens 50p coin. It’s an emotional time for Michael, whose dad was recently placed into care after a devastating dementia diagnosis. Izzie helps him sort his dad’s once-loved treasures from travels around the world, hoping to give them new homes. Meanwhile, JJ gets to work on a series of restorations: reviving a mid-century set of weighing scales, repairing a wobbly farmhouse chair, and teaming up with Clara, whose practical skill and eye for detail shine through, to reupholster a worn Victorian chaise longue.

After a previous auction experience ended in disappointment, Michael and Clara are holding on to the hope that this sale day will bring success and new homes for their beloved items, whilst restoring their faith in the auction process.

Every sale brings them closer to two heartfelt goals: funding a special day out to create lasting memories with Michael’s elderly parents and contributing towards a home studio that will allow Clara to spend more time with her sister and connect with the deaf community near Bristol.
