Continuing our major focus this week on our BBC Orchestras playing Brahms, today we hear his Symphony No. 3 performed in Aberdeen by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. We return to Wales for more chamber music recorded last year at the Hay and Cowbridge Festivals: former Radio 3 New Generation Artists the Mithras Trio play Ravel in Hay, and the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective perform the Horn Trio by Brahms in Cowbridge. Also, we’ll be hearing music by Bach and Vivaldi from our Ensemble in Focus this week, the superb Italian Baroque group Accademia Bizantina.
