Hebden Bridge Picture House taken over by town council
A West Yorkshire town council has taken over a 500-seat cinema which dates back to 1921.
Hebden Royd Town Council said it intended to preserve the Hebden Bridge Picture House for future generations and planned to digitise its projection system.
When it was first built, the cinema had about 900 seats but has had several refurbishments since.
The council has taken over the running of the cinema from Calderdale Council.
