For fans who can't stay awake until the early hours, BBC Sport is offering a dedicated spoiler-free catch-up experience

BBC Sport is giving audiences the ultimate way to experience England's blockbuster World Cup last 16 clash with Mexico – live through the night or completely spoiler-free the next morning.
Launching a special ‘Stay Up or Catch Up’ offer, BBC Sport is giving audiences the flexibility to experience every moment of the knockout drama their way.
England’s match against Mexico will broadcast exclusively live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 1am on Monday, with live radio commentary on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds, alongside live text coverage and in-match clips across the BBC Sport website and app. Fans can even experience the live match in 3D through BBC Sport’s popular World Cup 3D experience feature.
Kelly Cates presents coverage, joined by former England superstars Wayne Rooney, Joe Hart and Micah Richards, while Alan Shearer joins Guy Mowbray in the commentary box from the iconic Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
Stay Up...
Audiences can watch every moment live as England attempt to book their place in the World Cup quarter-finals against an unbeaten Mexico side that is yet to concede a single goal in the tournament. Playing in front of a home crowd at the legendary Azteca Stadium and benefiting from extra recovery time, Mexico will provide England with one of their toughest tests yet.
...Or Catch Up
For fans who can't stay awake until the early hours, BBC Sport is offering a dedicated spoiler-free catch-up experience.
Audiences can wake up to a completely spoiler-free BBC iPlayer before choosing how to relive the action – whether its tuning in to a full re-run on BBC Two at 7.10am to share the experience with fellow fans, by watching the full re-run match on demand at a time that suits them (available immediately after the match on BBC iPlayer), or by catching an extended 15-minute highlights programme on BBC iPlayer at bbc.co.uk/nospoilers and the BBC Sport Football YouTube channel, featuring every key moment alongside expert post-match analysis highlights from Kelly Cates, Wayne Rooney, Micah Richards and Joe Hart.
It's the most comprehensive catch-up experience BBC Sport has ever offered for a World Cup knockout match, ensuring audiences don’t have to choose between a good night's sleep and missing one of the biggest games of the FIFA World Cup tournament so far. Once fans are up to speed, they can catch all the reaction, join the debate and watch the best video clips in the BBC Sport app's new Shorts feed.
The special offering follows huge audience demand for England's dramatic victory over DR Congo, when Harry Kane's late winner secured a place in the last 16 in front of the biggest live television audience of 2026. The match attracted a peak audience of 16.3 million, generated 10.4 million streams across BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and app, and drove more than 20 million visits to BBC Sport's live coverage page worldwide, including 14 million in the UK.
Whether audiences are watching live in the early hours or catching up over breakfast, BBC Sport is bringing fans every moment of England's biggest World Cup test yet.
