| | St. David’s Players were formed in 1969 and stage an annual production by Gilbert and Sullivan. From humble beginnings (piano accompaniment in a church hall) we've grown into a strong company whose stylish productions attract audiences to the Barnfield Theatre, Exeter each October. |
 | | | At St. David’s Players, we are proud of the fact that we've staged virtually all of the Gilbert and Sullivan works.
Productions of the less well-known ones attract a lot of interest, particularly "The Rose of Persia" in 1990.
 | | Maureen Boon as Lady Blanch, Penny Daw as Princess Ida and Helen Mountain as Lady Psyche | Following these successes the company was invited and sponsored by the Sullivan Society to perform a concert version of "The Emerald Isle" for their 1999 conference in Torquay.
The 2001 show was "Princess Ida", musically traditional but a visual treat – Princess Ida’s female university set on a distant planet in space.
The production for 2002 was "Ruddigore". We will be starting rehearsals of Yeoman of the Guard in April. | | | |
