In November 2002 the company performed a highly acclaimed production of "Half A Sixpence" ... the story of the cheeky shop boy who finally makes good after many adventures.

The company of 40, under the direction of Ken Robertson Scott, well known for his work on stage and television, sang and danced their way through this 'best of British' musical.

Plans are now in hand for the 2003 production of "Annie" (music and lyrics by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin and book by Thomas Meehan), showing at the Queen's Theatre, Barnstaple from Wednesday 19th to Sunday 23rd November with matinees on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd

The Society is presently in rehearsal for their Summer Drama tour with a new Comedy Thriller "Proscenophobia ... Stage Fright".

The tour will be from 16th to 18th July and will take in Huntshaw, Lynton and the Landmark Theatre at Ilfracombe.

The Young Generation, who have a membership in excess of 100 youngsters, is the youth branch of the society. They are looking forward to starting rehearsals for a lavish production of Bugsy Malone, to be staged Easter 2004 at the Queen's Theatre, Barnstaple.

Plans are also afoot for a return of the highly popular Cabaret Tour for the Summer of 2004

New members are always welcome in all areas of the group, whether on stage, back stage or helping front of house, you will always be assured a warm welcome.

And check out the Hall of Fame for more pictures from both the Barnstaple Musical Comedy Society and The Young Generation.
