The sights and smells of summer...
Just like the flowers and plants on show...the Westcountry Garden Festival is blossoming and growing!

The first show was such a success, that this second festival at Westpoint near Exeter is bigger and better - and it's being held over three days.

The festival is aimed at garden and plant lovers of all levels of experience and ages.

Among the focal points are the Floral Hall, bursting with colourful flowers and plants; the designer Festival Gardens - packed with ideas for your garden; and the Junior Gardening Section.

The Floral Hall also has an ABC of flowering plants, and displays by holders of National Plant Collections.

In the Festival Gardens, there are styles ranging from urban chic, to pastoral.

There's even an edible garden - and a Dartmoor garden, using heathers, ferns and local stone.

These gardens have been created by young designers, and it's hoped visitors will be inspired to reproduce some of the creativity at home.

Radio and TV gardening expert Anne Swithinbank will be on hand with helpful tips, and some of the region's big nurseries will be exhibiting.

And, for those who want to grow their own grub, members of the National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners will be there to offer advice on allotments.

The festival is open 10am - 5pm on each of the three days.

Advance tickets are £6.50 for adults, £5.50 for seniors, and children up to 16 get in for free.

Contact the ticket hotline on 08705 321 321 or 07092 013 500.
