The primary aim for most marchers is to put pressure on the government not to introduce legislation for a complete ban on hunting.

Marchers want to put pressure on the government not to ban hunting
But hunting is not the only concern, Countryside Alliance supporters see it as a symbol of a rural way of life under threat - with farming struggling and young people unable to afford houses in the communities they grew up in.

The Alliance claims that the march calls for rural people to have the right to live responsibly as they choose, and for the government to address what it calls the 'real' problems of the countryside - destroying its culture and its children's future.

Meanwhile anti -hunt campaigners remain confident that a bill to ban hunting will follow the Rural Affairs Ministers Consultation period.
