Although the population of the village is quite small, around 400, there are many active clubs and societies; the gardening club, W I. local history society and the village art group which is responsible for this painting of the local Church of Saint Petroc by local artist Tony Gordon who also runs the Guest House in the village.
As well as the church, which has some interesting architectural features and a mound in the churchyard which is the burial place of soldiers from the Civil War, there's also a Methodist Chapel in the village.
