The sixth annual Respect Festival at Plymouth Guildhall proved to be bigger and better than ever. For the first time at the Festival, an outdoor stage provided a platform for young people to showcase their talents.
It was a magnet for young people and city centre shoppers alike - all bopping to the beats of some superb local acts including The Cohorts and Reel Steel. | | The festival celebrates the diversity of local culture. |
The theme of this years Respect Festival is "Building Communities", and as always the festival promotes the message that we are all different, but all equal. BBC TEXT PROJECT For this years Respect Festival the BBC Devon website has been running a unique interactive element. All you need to do is ask yourself a simple question - Who am I? How do you identify yourself - by gender, age, race or by the width of your flares? Think about it and then fill in the form below. All your messages were displayed on a screen at the festival as well as on this page.
RESPECT CALENDAR Plymouth School children have also been busy preparing for this years festival. The Respect Calendar will be on sale during the festival, but you can have a sneak preview here.
