World champions Italy need to bounce back from their shock 1-1 draw with New Zealand in Group F with a win against Slovakia to ensure they qualify for the second round.

A draw for the Italians could see New Zealand produce one of the great World Cup shocks if they can beat Paraguay and eliminate the 2006 winners.

In Group E Japan take on Denmark in Rustenburg with both sides on three points after each team beat Cameroon and lost to the Netherlands. The Japanese have a superior goal difference, so only need a draw, but the Danes will be hoping Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner can shake off his groin injury and hit the net.

The Dutch, who are already assured of qualification, only need a point against Cameroon to secure top spot in the group.

D-Day for England as Fabio Capello's stuttering side face Group C leaders Slovenia in Port Elizabeth probably needing a win to reach the knock-out stages. With England's World Cup campaign yet to get off the ground, can Capello's team avoid an ignominous early exit in the group stages, a fate the nation last suffered in 1958?

In the other Group C game the United States face Algeria, with both teams still in with a chance of qualifying for the last 16.

Group D is equally finely balanced with all four teams capable of going through. Australia need a win against Serbia as do Ghana, who face Germany.
