Do you have sharp eyes?

If the answer is yes, then maybe your eyes are as sharp as one gamer who had noticed an advert for Final Fanstay XIII game for Xbox 360 but they actually used PS3 images.

The makers of this game Square-Enix did admit that images used in the advert were taken from full motion video (FMV) which had been 'played back' on the Sony console.

While the 'Advertising Standards Authority' concluded that the advert was misleading, Square-Enix replied back saying, ' any average viewer, or indeed avid gamer' would not see any difference unless 'reviewing the material forensically'. Would you??

Look out for new gaming technology from both Microsoft Kinect & Sony's Playstaion Move, both due out before the end of the year.

Toy Story 3 Review

Some of you may know me for rubbing my orb and trying to bring enlightment to the world (listen to Rampage 10am - 1pm and you will hear my 'Thought Of The Day') I hope I can inspire you and get you thinking in a positive way....

Jadeinspires (my twitter name) is also a mum of 3 girls. As soon as I found out Toy Story 3 was coming out (Game out today 16th July, Movie out Monday 19th July) I knew my 6 year old Alisha would love to have a go on this one.

Like most children she loved Toy Story 1 & 2 the movie, but now she loves playing on the Nintendo Wii these movies have taken on a whole new meaning (For example - The Frog & Princess is another favourite)

The World Of Gaming According to Big Boi Week 3

Yo what's up this is Big Boi we're at week 3!! Hold tight Rampage I've still taken over your blog..... bear with me. Last week I was giving you my top 3 gaming tips, (if you didn't get a chance to read it peep it here). This week is all about my top 5 games of all time!!!

MY TOP 5 GAMES OF ALL TIME.

(5) Combat (Atari 2600)

We have to take this back, first of all, back then it was all about the Atari it was all about combat with the tanks, with... beep beep beep that's all you'd hear, what a classic! If you were really into your gaming back in the day and you had a Colecovision or Atari that was the one.

(4) Yie Ar Kung Fu (Konami Arcade 1985)

It was a fighting game, before the days of Mortal Kombat this was the one. My mum used to give me & my brother change all the time, they had the arcade machine in the Laundromatt in the neighbourhood where we used to stay. We would beat the game all the time, the last person on the game was called 'Blues' he was really hard to beat, me & my brother used to go crazy on the buttons trying to beat him.

(3) Mario Bros (On The Nintendo 64)

I'm talking about the very first Mario Bros on the Nintendo. We weren't privileged enough to have our own Nintendo computer, but out neighbour did and I would go over to their house to play Super Mario Bros.

(2) Mortal Combat (Midway Games)

In the early days of this game people were protesting about the amount of violence in the game and blood & guts. Now there are so many other violent games out there they can get away with pretty much anything.

(1) Madden NFL (EA Games)

Any Madden title that comes out I play. I'm like the mad patriot, it's all about Tom Brady!! I woop woop, my back up team are the 'Pittsburgh Steelers'. I used to be the champion from 1998 all the way to 2005, then I went into the studio and started making music so I got a little rusty! But I'm telling you it's ain nuthin' it's like riding a bicycle you never forget, so you just watch out on the next Madden and we're gonna be at ya!

I'm gonna see you all next week, and I'm just at'cha baby - yeeeah!

The World Of Gaming According to Big Boi Week 2

Yo what's up? It's Big Boi here again, you know hijacking Rampage's blog with the World of Gaming according to me. Last week we went into the worst game I ever played to my most embarrassing defeat to my son. (If you missed it check it here) This week we get into something more serious, a bit more sinister ........

MY TOP THREE GAMING TIPS:

1) You have to have the right music playing in the background, you know you have to have your own soundtrack playing, whether your playing sports games, fighting games it's just good to have that certain type of rhythm.

2) You might want to have a hot pizza or some type of food in case you keep winning & you can't get away from your joystick and it wouldn't be a bad thing to have a drink by your side as well.

3) This one is really important, especially when you're playing Madden and you're trying to hype the ball get a player off, you HAVE to turn that phone off cos someone could get a 50 yard run on you and you really have to concentrate you cannot be distracted by your phone going off.

WHY I CAN'T STOP PLAYING .......

There are certain games that are highly addictive, one of them being games that are on your phone, there's a game out called 'Angry Birds' that I have on my iphone, in every break I get I'm always playing it, my little boy got me on to this one. I couldn't stop playing it, it's one of those games you have to really think in order to conquer each part of the game. I like games that make you think.

Bafta Awards 2010 - Video Game Awards

So it's was that time of year again (March 19th) when the UK actors and actresses get together for the British Academy Of Film And Theatre awards, it's the Oscar's of the UK. Since 1998 Bafta also recognises the massive industry that is Video Games and has given it it's own awards amongst the TV and Film industry.

While they were celebrating all that is interactive in the world of Video Games a lot of the celebs took the opportunity to talk about their love of gaming; Ralph Little (may know him from BBC 3's sitcom comedy Four Pints Of Larger and A Packet Of Crisps) said Halo is the best shoot em up ever! .. That's big talk Ralph.. Olly Murs (X Factor) would play Fifa 10 in the X Factor house to chill out and our sister station Radio 1's presenter Edith Bowmen admitted she likes what she calls the 'Show Off' games such as Guitar Hero.. Dom Jolly (comedian who used to walk around with an oversized Mobile Phone, like you do!) said he enjoys a night in with Modern War Fare...

]]>I think we can safely say this gaming industry is booming! There were so many categories which included things like, Use of Audio, The Best Strategy and Best Use of online etc..

Here's a taster of just some of the big winners from the night.

The Best Sports Game = Fifa 10
The Best Multiplayer Game = Left 4 Dead 2
The Best Handheld Game = LittleBigPlanet (PSP)
The Best Gameplay = Batman: Arkham Asylum
The Best Family & Social Game = Wii Sports Resort

The Best Game overall (any guesses.... No not Call Of Duty) .... It went to Batman Arkam Asylum.!!

Another big award on the night the 'Fellowship Award' which recognises the achievement of the developers. Yep those people behind the big titles who come up with the idea and concept in the first place. Do you ever spare them a thought when playing your favourite game? Probably not cos you're too busy getting to the next level without losing another life...

The prestigious award went to Shigeru Miyamoto developer of Donkey Kong (Remember that game? - CLASSIC!!) Mario and Zelda (hold tight Sampage on that game).

Fun and Games with Lazlow from GTA.

When Rampage were offered a chance to interview the most famous voice from the Grand Theft Auto series they obviously jumped at the chance. (Well not literally, can you imagine Mike jumping, hilarious!)

So we went off to a plush recording studio somewhere in the West End of London, to meet a very charming Lazlow Jones.

Now in case you're one of the minority people that don't know anything about GTA. Lazlow Jones is a writer, producer, director and talk show host based in New York City, USA. He was the host of Technofile, a radio show syndicated on more than 100 radio stations in America as well as Sirius XM Satellite Radio. This is big business in the states, people subscribe just to hear Lazlow talk. (Not sure if that could happen with Rampage, mixing maybe, but talking hmmmm...).

]]>Once we met him, it wasn't hard to tell why he's so popular in the radio, he had the guys in stitches (A lot of which couldn't be broadcasted). Lets just say he doesn't hold back and whilst very funny, the producer and I would actually like to stay employed! Not only is he a very funny man, but also true pro at this talk host business.

You may have heard him on Rampage earlier today speaking about the new game 'Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City.' There was so much to say about this massive series, not to mention Wretch 32 & Ace (wanna be gangsta's) playing this game with a critical reviewers eye.

So what you didn't hear on the show today, we have posted here, this should put a smile on your face, it's even funnier if you knew how serious Mike & T were taking this....

Firstly the guys in the light of one of the titles of the Grand Theft Autio iV being called 'The Ballad of Gay Tony'. They wanted to find out just how strong Lazlow's ballad game was. so they played Lazlow some big ballads, and he had to guess what each song was, quite straight forward nothing too hard right? Take a listen to this..

So after the guys put Lazlow through his paces, he decided to flipped the script and put them to the test. With all their big talk he wanted to see just how much of a gamer they really are. Take a listen to this and see just how strong their gaming knowledge really is. (See if you guys know the answers as well).

Ok so picture the scene now the studio is getting slightly warm, Mike & T have been put through their paces and challenged to their limits, they take a sip of water to wet the pallet for their next challenge. Which is....Who can talk the longest about gaming in one long breathe? (should be a walk in the park for 3 DJ's that LOVE chatting non stop right?).

I love this audio, great idea producer Buki, personally I think we should do this in all Rampage's interviews.... in fact dunno why we didn't think if it sooner!
