Fish n Crabs

Hello Everyone,

I think this would be my last post for this month, I feel guilty that I fell behind the target of posting 2 blogs per week, I am sorry for that. On the other hand however, I enjoy being a student blogger for the month of MAY, many thanks to Will who is the teacher blogger for this month as well, I have learn a lot, and also to all Buddies that have posted comments at the bottom of my posts, overwhelmed reading those.

Part 2 of my weekends habit hitting a fish market, last week I also went to the market but this time I did'nt go straight up to it. I got up a bit earlier than 5:30 and do some exercise by running a 5kms back and forth along the shore.Anyway skip to fish market again, here what I have got...Fish n Crabs.

Filipinos I have to say loves eating seafoods, either fish or the other kind of seafoods such as, crabs, squids, shrimps you name it. I have made one of the Filipino recipes in cooking crabs, I hope you'll like it We call it " Ginataang Alimasag".

No need to do lot of effort to have it done just a 30 mins exercise. First you have to dry up the crabs by frying them in a medium size frying pan. While waiting for the orange color appearance of them, prepare the veges that you want to incorporate there's no rules in choosing veges by the way. In this recipe I have put in cubed squash, 2 inches chopped sitaw's , pechay, and some chillis mixed them with coconut milk and thats it. I am not sure you'd like by looking only at the picture but I must say this is the kind of Filipino recipe that you would'nt forget once you've eaten it with white rice..Here's another one Fried cheeri fish should be prepared on the table with chopped tomatoes and a cup of soy sauce with a drops of lemon.

Hope you like my presentation of two of our recipes guys. Again I personally say thank you to everyone and to the BBC Learning english team and mostly to BBC for letting me part of a blogger student category. I promise I'll keep in touch.

Fish market

Getting up the bed at 5:30 in the morning, rushing into the car thinking that you are gonna be late catching these fish vendor selling live/fresh fish at the fish market. Thats my days off habit by the way.

I think seldom you can find live fish at the fish market anywhere around the world. often you find them at the mall supermarket but not as fresh or live as you are expecting. Here in the city where I live, person like me that loves eating seafoods are gathering every friday at fish market not buying a ice preserved fish but a live and fresh one.

The deal of buying those fish are sometimes not per kilo you can get them as much as what is in the fish net or a pre-set amount or per piece, you can have a best deal if you are good in persuading sellers or vendors. If you feel that you've been ripped-off by them in getting fish that you bought in high price, I must say no you haven't, because its worth it.

Not only fish that you'll find at fish market that i'm talking about, you can have also a fresh vegetables, fruits and the other bits and pieces that your kitchen might need.

Handy Manny

Need more pictures and topics about our stunning and wonderful places? Well, I promise that I'm gonna talk about that next time after this. Just because I'm so enthusiastic talking about a bit of our Culture now. We Filipinos are friendly, technically educated, hardworking, honest and religious. There's more of that, I just want it to cut it to the chase. One the best example is Manny Pacquiao...

Manny is a Filipino boxer stands only 5 feet 6 1/2 inches tall a typical height of a Filipino which comes from the country side of the Philippines who managed to become a champion. His place is a southern part of the Philippines where poverty is serious concern. He dropped out of High school due to lack of support from his family financially led him to pursue boxing. He started his amateur career at the age of 14, professional? 16.

He has done a marvelous job that brought him into worlds no. 1 pound for pound boxer acquiring Titles that none of the boxers have achieved in the history of Boxing. Main Secret? I think faith in God, train hard, and never become arrogant.

Ending writing a bit of a history about Manny, I believe most of you that loves Boxing has subscribe on a Paperview already of the Pacquiao and Moshley fight May 7 US time. I think I have to tell you this, In Philippines even abroad every time Manny fights inside the ring, We are very supportive to Manny, praying, & watching the fight on the Tele. Businesses like retail Shops, and Transportations like Buses, Taxis, Jeepneys are slightly close and stop, Private cars are parked, you will find most of the roads that used to be busy are becoming empty . We are trying to gather in one of the places where we can watch the fight on the big screens or on the Tele.

Who do you think is going to be victorious tomorrow? I think Manny is likely to win that match. Power and speed are important in Boxing. What's your views?
