WHAT A WEEK!

I'm broken, bruised and a bit delirious from lack of sleep but what a ruddy marvellous week. I've absolutely LOVED visiting the wonderful people of Inverness, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow. We've made it to T in the Park and the sun is still shining! In fact, it's bloody boiling.

My show is coming from site in Kinross this afternoon. Lots of people are arriving with all their camping gear and serious amounts of beers, son. I'm doing the telly for BBC3 all weekend, weeyyyyyyy!

I'll have some very special guests on my show today - the wonderful hosts that let this idiot into their homes this week. So listen from 4pm it's going to be a rowdy one.

Last night after my traumatising encounter with Daisy the cow in Glasgow, I got to play in one of the tractors which made me a very happy boy. Better than a real job isn't it.

Then we went down to the farm house and I met Trish's farmer friends, who were all packed and ready for T in the Park and up for getting the party started early. So we had a cheeky sausage and a little beer. What a lovely bunch of young farmers.

I had one more present to pass on from Scott - a bottle of Innuendo Bingo water filled with my spit. Nice.

Then this morning I attempted to feed Connor the calf while chatting to Grimmy and wierdly, Ke$ha. WHAT IS GOING ON?!

A VERY Close Encounter

Life as I know it will never be the same again.

This is the 'experience' I was put through when I arrived at my final Sofa Surfing stop in Glasgow. That ridiculous blindfold came off and I was greeted by the lovely Trish... and the not so lovely backside of a cow. Which I was then made to milk. What I felt inside when I first put my hands on those teets... oh my god. Harrowing.

Of course the cow was called Daisy.

I had a lucky escape - just as I finished milking Daisy decided to... shall we say 'relieve' herself with some force. I very narrowly avoided the drop zone.

Weyyyyy!!

We're in glorious Glasgow this afternoon after waking up in Edinburgh this morning. Two absolutely wonderful cities. Running around Scotland is so much fun.

Today's show is coming from Pacific Quay which is way better than London - the canteen is amazing and I can drink water in the studio. IMAGINE THAT. I'm staying here.

So after the show in Edinburgh I was made by my horrible bosses to put the stupid blindfold back on and was driven to the third host's house - which was the lovely India and her three flatmates Hattie, Fiona and Ailis.

I say lovely... they made me sing (badly) on the karaoke, cook, clean the bathroom and pitch a tent - which I had to sleep in. I didn't even get a bed!

We then went to the glorious Arthur's Seat and got a bit emotional overlooking Edinburgh at dusk. Oh, and Nina Nesbitt came too! Look at our very Scottish poses. Any excuse to put the kilt back on.

Ergh, Scott gave me the worst present yet to pass on to India. Worse than the naked Zambezi picture...

Of course I was then made to put it on. At this point it all became a bit too much.

So it's the FINAL night of Sofa Surfing tonight!! And we're back in Glasgow which is where we were last year. Wonderful. Not so wonderful - not knowing where I'm staying and the prospect of putting that HORRIBLE blindfold back on.

Night 2 of Sofa Surfing could NOT have been more different from Inverness. The lovely Rachel and her spooky house with the naked ghost monk is a distant memory.

I took off the blindfold after the show yesterday to find myself in the middle of a scrum. AGHHHHHH. Now I love rugby, but I do not love playing rugby. So being surrounded by 20 burly ladsladslads was not ideal. They made me train with them, and I have the scars to prove it:

Should have seen the other guy.

(He was absolutely fine. More than fine in fact. He was loving it).

But my second host Chris was an lovely chap. After training we all went down the pub and I saw the wonderful sights of Aberdeen at night. We drank, were merry and rounded off the night with a huge singalong on the dancefloor to Mumford and Sons. Weeeeey!

The early morning wake up call was not helped by another ridiculous gift from Scott - 'Greg James's Sexy Music Selection'. What is that?!

Starting to feel the lack of sleep today, but it’s ok because we’re in beautiful Edinburgh!! I love this city, so happy to be here.

So after a haunted house and a rugby scrum, I have no idea where on earth I’m going to end up tonight. Well, somewhere near Edinburgh probably.

We made the 100 mile trip from Inverness for Day 2 of Sofa Surfing. Great night last night with Rachel and her friends in the haunted house on the banks of ‘The Black Water’ – and I wasn’t felt up by the naked monk ghost either. Always a bonus.

Many thanks to Scott Mills for my ‘gift’ for Rachel – a framed picture of me naked in the Zambezi. It now hangs pride of place on their kitchen wall. All fine until you have to eat dinner looking at your own arse.

Last night (apart from the ghosts, and the bum cheek) was very civilised. Chatted until the wee (Scottish word for little) small hours and drank local whiskey. Who knows what’s in store for me tonight in Aberdeen… Rhianna’s due back with some more weird clues very soon.

Show in Inverness done. Now off to the first listeners house! This blog is the home of all the fun stuff from this week.

It's been a busy first few hours here in Inverness. I lived the life of a rock star yesterday (kind of). Saw Murray win Wimbledon on Centre Court at 5:24pm then dashed straight to the plane at 5:30pm. PERFECT TIMING thank you Andy!

We arrived at a buzzing Inverness, the place was so happy, the weather was good and we had a very entertaining eve in with the locals.

The whole point of this trip is to hang out with the listeners. And that's exactly what we're doing ahead of T in The Park.

Fun show today with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. Such a good bunch of guys, Here's me in my kilt. Thought we'd better get all the stereotypes out of the way.

Oh, and I had a go at playing the bagpipes. Didn't quite pull it off.

Road Trip!

So Sofa Surfing is back from this Monday! Can't wait. This year we will be seeing SO much more of Scotland, as we're taking it on a road trip. Each day we will move to a different location to find some lovely people who want to take me in for the night (PLEASE).

And look, here's a handy little map of our route. I'm not exactly sure why my head changes size as the week goes on.

Remember Grimmy will have all the info you need from 6.30am on Monday morning. I should probably start packing. Or panicking. Or both.

Good day lovely people!

BIG news. I’m taking the show on tour again…

Next weekend is the mighty T in The Park in Kinross in Scotland and I’m going again to do the BBC Three coverage. It’s a great line up this year too (it always is). Rihanna, The Killers and Mumford and Sons the headliners. Huge.

Last year, we did a thing called ‘Sofa Surfing’ which is my way of seeing as much of Scotland as possible. I found myself in situations like this...

Which was y'know, fine. But there was also this.

Less great.

And you know I love a challenge – putting myself into odd situations for your amusement (Afghanistan,Zambezi) The idea is to travel around seeing the sights of the fine country and meeting as many of our loyal listeners as possible and they can basically show me a good time in their home town. (Not in that way).

Last year the very accommodating and wonderful people of Glasgow let me crash in their houses, but this year... we're going on a road trip!

I can't waaaaaait.

So, Sofa Surfing is back and it’s bigger than ever. On Monday 8th July I need a place to crash in Inverness, Tuesday night we're in Aberdeen, Wednesday I need your help in Edinburgh, Thursday we return to Glasgow and Friday I'll be doing my show from the T in the Park site in Kinross.

If you want me to stay at your place, listen to Grimmy from 6:30am on Monday morning for all the details… you'll be able to apply to have me as your houseguest on the morning of the day I'm in your area.

The onesie is back...

Oh, sorry. The bosses have told me to tell you the boring bit. Apparently it's important.

So this is a kind of heads up. We're gonna want to know why you fancy having me stay in your house. Also, you need to be 16 or over to apply, and if you're under 18 there's got to be an adult in the house at all times. You'll need to live around 30 minutes from the city centre of that day's location, and me and my assistant producer will need an actual room to sleep in - we're not allowed to share a room with anyone else. Also, my bosses are a bit weird and they don't want me to get off lightly - so if you've got things planned for the evening (in the house) then all the better. So get thinking and listen to Grimmy from 6.30 on Monday morning...

I have always had a bit of a thing about posed photos anyway because you always look weird. I think I'm right:

That's why I've come up with Miranda-ing. Waaiiittt...

It's the new craze. It's the new Harlem Shake, Gangnam Style, Planking etc etc.

Basically I love a bandwagon, so here I am trying to make my own!

Don't get on the bandwagon guys, BE THE BANDWAGON. Yeh??!!!
