How safe is your pension?

The experts say millions of us aren't putting aside nearly enough for that comfortable retirement we dream about - but lots of people no longer trust the stock markets where pension funds are invested.

Nor do they trust the Government to protect them if things go wrong.

Vivian White investigates the crisis of confidence in pensions - and talks to men and women who've been prudent all their working lives, but who now, through no fault of their own, may have precious little pension to look forward to.

The programme also features some of the results of a survey into pension attitudes and perceptions carried out by Government adviser Dr Ros Altmann and YouGov.

Panorama: How Safe is your Pension? will be broadcast on Sunday 17 November at 2215 GMT on BBC One.
